Bring your town into the assistant you already use.

Tabled runs a read-only Model Context Protocol server at api.usetabled.com/mcp. Add it as a custom connector in ChatGPT or Claude, sign in with your Tabled account, and approve the scopes on Tabled's own consent screen. You can decline instead.

Same grounding as Ask Tabled: the tools return the deterministic, database-grounded candidates that power Ask Tabled, without the model layer, restricted to active, operator-managed listings.

Scope · recommendations:read

Return factual, deterministic Tabled candidates from active, operator-managed businesses for one resolved city/state market. Image URLs are intentionally omitted.

Input

A query, optional city and state or latitude and longitude, kind (place, event, deal, any), open now, max distance, and a limit up to 20.

Returns

Business name and public slug, title, summary, categories, event times, distance, open state, and short evidence labels such as query match, taste match, open now, nearby, active deal, upcoming event. Never returns image URLs, ranking scores, or database ids.

operator_market_demand

Scope · operator:demand:read

Return consent-gated, aggregate Ask Tabled demand for an active, operator-managed business's market. Only completed dates are reported; counts are disclosed request signals, not unique people, and low-volume cells are omitted.

Access

Available only to a live member of an active, Tabled-reviewed business, for that business's public slug and a 7, 30, or 90 day period.

Returns

Totals by intent and daypart plus daily cells; a daily cell is omitted unless at least five distinct consenting accounts contributed.

Both tools declare readOnlyHint and cannot save, post, message, order, book, change an account, or administer a business. Booking, RSVP, order, and messaging tools remain roadmap and would sit behind explicit consent.

Setup

Connect in two steps.

01 · ChatGPT

Open Settings, turn on Developer mode, then Plugins and the plus button. Name it Tabled, paste https://api.usetabled.com/mcp, leave the client secret empty. Sign in to Tabled and approve the scopes when asked.

02 · Claude

Open Customize, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Name it Tabled, paste https://api.usetabled.com/mcp, keep authentication required, and use Anthropic's hosted client metadata. Or use the prefilled link above.

Availability as a custom connector does not mean that Tabled has been approved for or listed in an OpenAI or Anthropic marketplace or directory. There are no API keys and no tokens to copy; the only credential is the connector authorization you grant on Tabled's sign-in and consent screens.

Trust boundaries

What Tabled never does through a connector.

It never writes anything on your behalf.
It never returns image URLs, ranking scores, database ids, or your full preference profile.
It never includes imported or unclaimed listings; only active, operator-managed places and their events and deals.
It never reads your device location; coordinates are used only when you or the assistant supply them for a request.
It never sees the surrounding ChatGPT or Claude conversation, and it never sends stored Ask Tabled prompts.
It never puts your password, Tabled session, authorization code, or connector tokens in a tool result, or sends connector credentials to another provider or an operator.

How access is protected

OAuth 2.1 with PKCE.
Access tokens expire after 15 minutes and refresh tokens after 30 days.
Each refresh rotates the token and a replayed token revokes the whole family.
60 requests per minute per account and client.
Changing or resetting your Tabled password revokes existing connector access.
Disconnect any time in the provider's connector settings.
