Privacy at Tabled.
This notice explains how Tabled handles personal information across the Tabled app (the mobile app you sign into) and our marketing site at usetabled.com. If you only visit the website, the website section near the end is all that applies to you.
What the Tabled app collects
- Account & sign-in — to create your account we collect a phone number or email address, or — if you choose — an Apple, Google, or Microsoft sign-in. We store the profile details you add, such as your name, photo, and taste preferences.
- Location (only with your permission) — if you allow it, we use your device location while the app is open to rank nearby places and events and to let you check in to a spot. We never track your location in the background, and you can decline at the system prompt or turn it off anytime in your device Settings.
- Payments — when you pay in the app, including with Apple Pay, your payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe; Tabled never receives or stores your full card number.
- Content & connections — we store what you create in the app: posts, photos, comments, direct messages, saved lists, RSVPs, friends and connections, and the orders or reservations tied to your account.
- Device & diagnostics — standard log and diagnostic data (such as app version, device type, and crash reports) to keep the app reliable and secure.
How we use it
We use this data to run Tabled: to sign you in, show you relevant nearby places and events, process your orders and payments, deliver messages and friend connections, keep the community safe, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that help us run Tabled — our payment processor (Stripe), cloud hosting and infrastructure providers that store your data securely, and an SMS provider that sends phone verification codes. They may only use the data to provide their service to us. We never sell personal information or share it with advertisers.
Safety & moderation
Tabled includes tools to keep the community safe. You can report posts or messages you find objectionable, and you can block another person so they can no longer find, contact, or follow you. We review reported content and remove anything that violates our terms.
Your choices & rights
You can delete your account anytime — in the app under Profile → Account → Delete account, which permanently erases your account and personal data. Full steps are on our Delete your account page. You control location and notification permissions in your device Settings. EU and California residents have additional rights under the GDPR and CCPA respectively; email hello@usetabled.com and we’ll help.
The marketing site (usetabled.com)
On the website itself we collect very little:
- Email address — collected only when you voluntarily submit it via the waitlist form. We use it to send you launch updates from the founder. You can reply to any email and ask to be removed.
- Email you send us — the contact page is a plain email link, so anything you write reaches our inbox directly and no form processor sits in between. We use it only to reply, keep it only as long as the conversation needs, and never add you to a mailing list from a message you sent us.
- Anonymous analytics— we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how Tabled is used so we can improve it. On this website, analytics load only after you accept analytics cookies, and they count page views and which sections are most useful. In the Tabled mobile apps, Google Analytics for Firebase records in-app usage such as screen views and feature interactions. In both cases the data is pseudonymous: we do not collect a device advertising identifier, we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not sell or share it with advertisers.
- Standard server logs — this site is served from Amazon S3 behind Amazon CloudFront, which records request metadata (timestamp, URL, response code) for security and abuse prevention. These logs rotate automatically, and the aggregate traffic statistics we read come from them — no script runs in your browser, no cookie is set, and nothing identifies you personally.
The first time you visit the site, you’ll see a banner asking whether to allow analytics cookies. Until you accept, no analytics scripts run. You can change your choice anytime by clearing this site’s storage in your browser.
What we don’t do
- We never sell your personal information.
- No third-party advertising trackers, pixels, or remarketing tags.
- No background location tracking.
- No contact-list or address-book uploads.
How we protect information
- Encryption in transit — all traffic uses HTTPS/TLS, with HSTS preload on the website.
- Access controls — personal data is restricted to the systems and people that need it to run the service.
- Payment isolation — card data is handled by Stripe (a PCI-DSS Level 1 provider) and is never stored on Tabled’s servers.
Our data statement — your rights
Wherever you live, we honor the rights that state privacy laws — including the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act — give consumers: you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and get a portable copy. We do not sell personal data and we do not process it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. Send any request to the contact below (or use the contact page) and we’ll respond within 45 days.
Changes
We may update this notice as Tabled evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this site.
