i lost
the room.
i never lost the reason.

[ 01 · The story ]

own it
out loud.

Yoke closed. That loss is not a footnote in my story. It is the foundation of it.

I spent a decade in restaurants, from the dish pit to lead general manager, running multiple stores before opening my own place. I know what a slow Tuesday costs. I know what one bad review does to a Friday.

I also know what one wrong decision costs, and what trying to be perfect while managing a whole life around the work can take from you.

I am not going to dress that up. I built tabled from inside the room, and that includes the parts I got wrong.

Own the mistakes.Own the hurt.Own the failures.Let that be the beat.

[ How I got here ]

the long
way round.

From the dish pit to my own front door.
And everything that came after.

  1. 01

    The dish pitThe beginning

A decade in restaurants. I worked my way from the dish pit to lead general manager, running multiple stores. I learned the work from the floor.

  2. 02

    Kokomo2022

Yoke Social Table opened. The first kitchen. Fresh food made to order, built with the community and the people who came up alongside the work.

  3. 03

    Indianapolis2024

A bigger room and a faster pace. We expanded into a second market and learned firsthand how hard local reach really is.

  4. 04

    The close2025

Yoke closed. Hard, public and expensive. My restaurant did not make it five years. I have sat with that, and I have written about it.

  5. 05

    tabledWhat came next

The platform I wished I had. For the shops, studios, salons and restaurants that give a place its character. Built from inside the room.

[ 02 · The reason ]

a load
worth sharing.

A yoke binds two who are pulling so neither carries the load alone.

That is the belief behind The Yoke Social Initiative. The room taught me that a business is a place people belong to. Community, connection and culture are the compass I steer by.

Good places deserve a way to stay connected to the people around them. tabled is the part of that belief I could build with my hands.

Technology should give people back to each other.

It should make belonging easier, not louder.

[ 03 · The work ]

tabled,
plainly.

A way for local places and the people around them to find each other.

tabled is the local business platform under The Yoke Social Initiative. Bakeries, boutiques, galleries, gyms, venues and restaurants all belong here.

The mission is to help people discover the businesses that give a town its character, then give them a reason to walk in.

I am building something that ends with you walking through a door.

The terms, said out loud.

The details are part of the promise.

  • 0% tabled commission on direct orders. Payment processing and delivery costs are separate.
  • Operator subscriptions are $0 during the closed beta. At least 30 days’ notice before charges begin.
  • Rewards belong to the business that issued them. Each business sets its own rules.
  • Availability depends on the place. Ordering, reservations, RSVP and delivery appear where offered. A reservation request is not a confirmed table.
  • Discover places across the U.S. Available listings and content vary. Indianapolis, Carmel, Kokomo, Lafayette, West Lafayette and Logansport are the six active launch communities.
[ The principles ]

what we
stand for.

The belief has to show up in the details.
These are the standards I want the work held to.

  1. 01

    Local is the algorithm.

Useful nearby places come first. The organic local feed emphasizes proximity and recency. Optional Pulse recommendations offer a separate way to discover.

  2. 02

    The neighborhood, not 1%.

A direct way for operators to reach their local community. No promise that every post will reach every resident.

  3. 03

    No middleman.

The relationship stays with the operator. tabled takes 0% commission on direct orders. Processing and delivery costs are separate.

  4. 04

    Honest over hype.

What is live. What is planned. What it costs. You should know before you commit.

  5. 05

    Operators are partners.

Local businesses are the people building a place. We listen, build alongside them, and treat their work with care.

  6. 06

    Designed, not decorated.

Every word, control and interaction should help. Clear, accessible design is part of how we earn trust.

[ 04 · The invitation ]

i cannot carry
this alone.

Connection takes people.
So does building something worthy of it.

I know the shape of the people this work needs. People who make things, bring others together, and tell me the truth while there is still time to act on it.

This is an invitation to start a conversation, not a list of open roles.

  • 01

    Believers

Conviction that local connection is worth building for.A shared reason to keep showing up.

  • 02

    Builders

The craft to turn a belief into something people can use.Care for how it works, down to the details.

  • 03

    Community weavers

The instinct to bring people into a real room. The point of all this lives off the screen.

  • 04

    Storytellers

Words and design that make the reason clear.Help people see where they belong in the story.

  • 05

    Local anchors

Operators, organizers and neighbors with real roots. The people who live a place should help shape it.

  • 06

    Steady hands

Care, consistency and follow through.Good intentions need people who finish the work.

  • 07

    Truth tellers

The nerve to tell me when I am wrong.Honest over hype has to include the founder.

There is a place
for your part.

Tell me what you make, where you are rooted, and what you would bring.
